Yahoo! does not often get the chance to “beat” Google in something, but it is happening. According to the statistics from comScore’s for July, the Marissa Mayer company is the current “King of Internet traffic.”
This is the first time that Yahoo beats Google since May 2011, and many will take this as a confirmation of the first major successful in first year as Marissa Mayer took position of Yahoo executive director, says CNN Money.
Yahoo sites are registered 196.6 million unique visits in relation to Google’s 192.3 million. In these entries are not inserted Yahoo’s last acquisition – Tumblr, whose 38.3 million visits were calculated separately, according to MarketingLand.
“Now, before you start to sell your Google stock, you should know that this does not mean that the balance of power has changed in favor of Yahoo,” wrote Scott Badmen, author of a blog on NBC Tech Now! portal. “The most important thing is how much money Google earns and provides and that is what attracts investors. And that’s where Yahoo is significantly lagging behind and which must be repaired, and that has nothing to do with the number of visits.”
